I recently (late 2009) dug up a link to this blog I wrote for a short-ish time while I was working full-time as a clinical social worker in a psychiatric hospital. I work there now just every other weekend, and I forgot about the blog. Anyway, my old profile seems to have gone away, so here's a new one. Small clarification: I didn't use my real name when I wrote the original posts to maintain patients' confidentiality and my own privacy -- safety, really. You just don't want former patients running across some blog in which they might recognize themselves. And you sure don't want someone given to unpredictability to find your house and stop by to chat about it. But since most of these stories are a few years old now, and I'm just there part-time, I'm not too worried about it. Just saying, so I don't confuse anyone. Also, read the first post, August 2005, if you want to know more about what I'm intending -- and not intending -- with this blog. Names and identifying characteristics have been changed to maintain patient confidentiality; everything else is true. If you like it, pass it on, and/or comment.
